Description
This coffee is produced in two cooperatives of coffee growers grouping together more than 240 families in the community of NASA WESX, in the Planadas and Gaitania terroirs. Each farmer owns around 2 or 4 hectares. These terroirs are protected lands for these indigenous peoples, with over 6,000 trees per hectare.
This coffee has been decaffeinated at the Decaf factory in Manizales, Colombia, using the Sugar Cane Decaf process. This decaffeination process consists of extracting the caffeine using ethyl acetate, which comes from sugar cane.
Good to know: the coffee is certified organic before decaffeination. However, as the sugar cane that supplies the ethyl acetate is not, the certification cannot be carried out. We carried out laboratory analyses and found no trace of pesticides.
